Friday promises plenty of star power, beginning with 2018 NCHA Futurity Open champion Crey Zee LTE $323,493, who has drawn to work in the first set. Shown by Tatum Rice for her breeders, Kevin and Sydney Knight, Weatherford, Tex., the Dual Rey daughter was also 2019 NCHA Open Horse of the Year under Tatum Rice.
Dual Reyish LTE $388,409, the 2017 NCHA Futurity Open champion bred by Greg Smith and sired by Hottish, will be on board in Friday’s fourth set under Austin Shepard, for owner Billy Wolf, Whitesboro, Tex. Also up in the fourth set is Rollz Royce LTE $298,578, winner of last year’s NCHA Open Classic Challenge under Beau Galyean. The 6-year-old son of Dual Smart Rey, bred by Royce Stallcup, is owned by Thomas Guinn, Philadelphia, Miss.
The Animal LTE $229,870, winner of the 2018 NCHA Open Derby and reserve champion of the NCHA Futurity under Lee Francois, has drawn to work in Friday’s fifth set. The 6-year-old son of Cat Ichi, bred by EE Ranches, Whitesboro, Tex., will be shown by James Payne for Cindy Perez, Winnie, Tex. Also showing in the fifth set will be 2018 NCHA Open Derby reserve champion Catillac Reys LTE $195,129, shown by Adan Banuelos. The 6-year-old Metallic Cat son, bred by Michelle Cannon, is owned by the Ten/27 Ranch, Denham Springs, La.
Adan Banuelos also shows Badboonarising LTE $287,490 in Friday’s sixth set. Bred by Royce Stallcup and owned by Plantation Farms, Denham Springs, La., the 5-year-old Once In A Blue Boon son was reserve champion of the 2018 NCHA Futurity under Banuelos.
Hiss N Vinegar LTE $187,224, champion of last year’s NCHA Open Super Stakes with Phil Hanson, will work in Friday’s seventh set. The Dual Smart Rey daughter is owned by her breeders, Jeffrey and Jennifer Foland, Weatherford, Tex.
Last, but by no means least, and cutting back-to-back in the eighth set on Friday, and are last year’s NCHA Derby co-champions Caution Piping Hot and Summer Time Fun. Caution Piping Hot LTE $91,141, a Hottish-sired gelding bred by Lisa Bankston, was shown by R.L. Chartier for Anderson Cattle Co., Victoria, Tex. Summer Time Fun LTE $96,438, by Metallic Cat, is owned and was bred by Ty Moore, Madill, Okla., and shown by James Payne.
