NRHA Commissioner Gary Carpenter has announced his plan to retire at the end of 2023, culminating a leadership role held since 2014. Carpenter made the announcement at the National Reining Horse Association Annual General Membership Meeting held on February 7 in Fort Worth, Texas.

OKLAHOMA CITY— The IPRA (International Professional Rodeo Association) announced today that they have been acquired Rodeo Logistics. The acquisition brings together two companies that share a passion for expanding the sport of rodeo and improving rodeo athlete's lives through innovation and long-term thinking.

The Run for a Million (TRFAM) has continued to grow immensely after its inception in 2019, and it will continue that growth by adding a Youth Championship to the event in 2023.

Calling all ranch horses! A new partnership between serial entrepreneur and horseman Daniel Patton and the American Paint Horse Association is expanding opportunities for ranch horses of all breeds. The team’s International Ranch Horse Association will offer expanded competitions for ranch horses, including offering IRHA world championship classes and expanded Ranch Horse Triple Crown events during the APHA World Championship Show in Fort Worth, Texas.

Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann and the horse he calls his “masterpiece”, King Edward, clinched their second superb victory of the season at the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ 2022/2023 Western European League qualifier in Basel, Switzerland today.

The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) is thrilled to announce the Top 20 Standings list for the 2022 year in each sector—Professionals, Non Pros, and Owners. NRHA’s Top 20 program is designed to feature the talent of the association’s top riders and owners each year. These frontrunners of each section are true representatives for the sport of reining in competition as well as in the industry day to day.

Spain’s Marco Fuste, known for his bountiful charisma and extensive experience in the equestrian sporting sphere, including his tenure as FEI Jumping Director since 1 February 2021, passed away on 5 January 2023 from heart complications. He was 60 years of age. 

Reined cow horse events and the corresponding class purses grew considerably in 2022. In turn, many sires and dams saw offspring launch them into new earnings brackets within the industry, including Bet Hesa Cat, the newest National Reined Cow Horse Association Two Million Dollar Sire.
