As very high-level sport gets underway again in Europe, Maikel van der Vleuten dominates in Grimaud, Saint-Tropez

This afternoon the HUBSIDE JUMPING in Grimaud’s CSI 4* Grand Prix played host to what could be called the cream of the discipline: 45 competitors, among the best riders in the world, Olympic champions, European champions, show jumping legends and the two best riders in the current World rankings. It’s true that after three months of sport being at a complete standstill, the riders were keen to go back to the showgrounds, and all of them are aware that there will not be many shows to go to this year.  The Netherlands’ Maikel van der Vleuten riding Dana Blue was victorious on the course designed by Andrea Colombo, the Italian course designer, ahead of Belgium’s Jos Verlooy and Italy’s Emilio Biocchi.  Simon Delestre, the best French rider was fourth with Berlux Z.

Equestrian Sport Productions COO and Show Manager David Burton, Jr. Announces Phase 1 PBIEC Opening

A Letter from Equestrian Sport Productions COO and Show Manager David Burton, Jr.

Dear ESP Exhibitors,

As many of you have heard, yesterday Florida Governor DeSantis announced that he is allowing Palm Beach County to enter "Phase 1" of reopening businesses. After reviewing our extensive protocols and the WHO mitigation score classifying Equestrian Sport Productions (ESP) horse show operations at a very low risk, the Village Of Wellington stated early this week that they would support our shows starting back in "Phase 1." We appreciate your patience and understanding that we have been reluctant to put out much information regarding our planned events until we had this level of assurance that we could move forward. We are actively finalizing our updated ESP Spring Prize List to publish online as soon as final USEF license approvals have been issued.
We are currently planning to run two schooling show events on May 22-24 and May 29-31, followed by three straight weeks of USEF “A” Rated competitions along with three USEF Local Rated Wednesday Equitation days. A link to all of the schedule drafts can be found here.

The FEI European Championships in the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines of Jumping, Eventing, Dressage and Para Dressage will not be held in 2021 due to the revised dates for the Tokyo Games next year. European Championships in the non-Olympic disciplines will still be organised in 2021. The Hungarian capital of Budapest had been due to play host to five disciplines next summer – Jumping, Dressage, Para Dressage, Driving and Vaulting – from 23 August to 5 September. However, the proximity of the Championships to the rescheduled Olympic and Paralympic Games has meant that it is no longer feasible to run Jumping, Dressage and Para Dressage. As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations of the first FEI European Driving Championships in Budapest back in 1971, the Organisers will maintain both Driving and Vaulting next year.
