Dane Braun was not sure exactly what he was getting himself into when he decided to purchase a 9-month-old son of former World Champion contender Air Time four-plus years ago.
Braun was hopeful he would be getting one hell of a bucking son of a gun that could become the foundation for his family bucking bull business with his sons, Cole and Blake. And it would not take long before he started seeing 501 Air Support displaying some of his father’s genetic prowess.
However, what the Brauns and their partner, Bryce Cooper, also began to realize over the years was that Air Support actually had a softer side when he wasn’t busy destroying the best bull riders in the world.

Mauricio Moreira crouched down on the back of the bucking chutes and peered below to see his opponent Skitso waiting for him.
Can-Am’s playoff aspirations were all on the 20-year-old’s shoulders. All Moreira had to do was ride Skitso and his team would be on its way to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on July 10 for Championship Weekend.
“I was just trying to stay calm and keep focused on this bull,” Moreira said Sunday afternoon with the help of Paulo Crimber translating. “I was thinking I just needed to do my job, nothing else. Ride my bull like I always do and see what happens.”

The last two months have been quite the whirlwind for world leader Jose Vitor Leme.
Leme had begun the 2020 season on an absolute tear, which is an understatement in many ways, by winning three of the first nine Unleash The Beast events and taking home a seven round wins.
The 23-year-old had ridden 20 of his first 27 bulls, was converting at a blistering 74.07% pace, and had quickly assured everyone that there would be no hangover following a heartbreaking defeat to two-time World Champion Jess Lockwood at the 2019 PBR World Finals through the first two months of the season.

Gene Owen went outside to feed his livestock on Tuesday morning in Big Cabin, Oklahoma, and he could not help but laugh at what he saw.
Down the alleyway of his backpens, Owen saw Cochise standing in the middle and rubbing his head against one of the fences.
Owen had decided to retire Cochise less than 24 hours earlier, and the 9-year-old bull had snuck out of his pen in the middle of the night.
