PBR Announces Preliminary 2021 Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour schedule

Entering its seventh year of competition, PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) premier expansion tour, the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT), has released a preliminary 2021 schedule including 19 tour stops, with a minimum of an additional six in the works.
The PWVT season opens the gates on January 15-16 in the heart of bull riding’s homeland, Texas, with the PWVT’s first ever visit to the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, and will end crowning a champion at South Point Arena in Las Vegas October 30-31, 2021.

Moreira Carries Can-Am Into Championship Weekend With a Walk-Off Victory in Must-Win Situation Against Union Home Mortgage

Mauricio Moreira crouched down on the back of the bucking chutes and peered below to see his opponent Skitso waiting for him.
Can-Am’s playoff aspirations were all on the 20-year-old’s shoulders. All Moreira had to do was ride Skitso and his team would be on its way to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on July 10 for Championship Weekend.
“I was just trying to stay calm and keep focused on this bull,” Moreira said Sunday afternoon with the help of Paulo Crimber translating. “I was thinking I just needed to do my job, nothing else. Ride my bull like I always do and see what happens.”

NRCHA Derby Finals herd work complete in Scottsdale, Arizona

Friday, June 13 - The first leg of the Open and Non Pro finals action, the herd work, is complete at the National Reined Cow Horse Association Jack and Phoebe Cooke Memorial Derby. The clean-slate finals continues on Saturday, June 13, at WestWorld of Scottsdale, with the rein work and fence work. The top combined score will ride away with the prestigious NRCHA Derby Champion title and a share of more than $330,000.

2020 AQHA Standing Committee Reports Approved April 16

The AQHA Executive Committee recently reviewed and took action on recommendations from four AQHA standing committees.
The American Quarter Horse Association Executive Committee met April 16 via conference call to review the rule-change recommendations from the amateur, judges, ranching and show committees.
Careful consideration, discussion and debate were devoted to each item. Below are the highlights of approved agenda items.

PBR CEO Sean Gleason announces PBR is returning to competition with a televised event on April 25-26.

PBR events will resume for television on April 25-26 from the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
Since leaving Duluth, GA, one month ago, where we were one of the last sports in North America to hold an event, we’ve been preparing for our return to competition with closed, made-for-television events.

Arbuckle Mountain Futurity Underway

Jarma and Cooper tie for Non-Pro title
Julie Jarma, Whitesboro, Tex., on  Metallic Bonus, and Lance Cooper, Weatherford, Tex., aboard Wiskeemakesmefriskee, tied with 222 points on Friday, February 28, to each earn $11,683, as co-champions of the 2020 Arbuckle Mountain 4-Year-Old Non-Pro Futurity. Ty Moore, Madill, Okla., scored 219 points for the third-place payout of $7,807, riding Tweezin My Brow.
Julie Jarma the NCHA earner of $590,414, won last year’s Brazos Bash Non-Pro Classic on Blackish LTE $180,399, by Hottish, as well as the West Texas Classic, and the reserve championship of the Brazos Bash Non-Pro Classic on Hott Heels, by Hottish. Metallic Bonus LTE $16,061, by Metallic Cat, is the first NCHA money earner out of the Dual Rey daughter Reys My Way LTE $10,827.
