Rodeo Corpus Christi and WCRA Announce $600,000 Payout and Addition of Dy Showcase for 2024

AUSTIN, Texas- Rodeo Corpus Christi and WCRA have recently announced the increased payout to over $600,000 in prize money for the 2024 WCRA Triple Crown of Rodeo Event. The May 7-11 lineup of events will also now include the CEAT Specialty Tires Division Youth Showcase Rodeo. Rodeo Corpus Christi coincides with the annual Buc Days Festival and the PBR Velocity Tour Finals at the American Bank Center on the picturesque Corpus Christi Bayfront.

RC Landingham Becomes the First Victor of the Triple Crown of Rodeo To Become an Overnight Millionaire

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – RC Landingham (Hat Creek, California) walked out of the Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas $1 million richer, taking home the WCRA Triple Crown of Rodeo, presented by the Lazy E Ranch and Arena on December 17. The 32-year-old bareback rider’s career was beaten, bruised, bloody, and filled with tragedy leading up to this $1 million moment. Landingham went into the event with two wins under his belt, only needing to win one more event to earn the bonus. Landingham rode supreme and punched his ticket to $1 million WCRA Triple Crown of Rodeo cash bonus. Landingham is the third athlete to be in contention for the Triple Crown of Rodeo, but the first victor of $1 million bonus.

Triple Crown of Rodeo Eligibility Restarts as New Champions Are Crowned at Rodeo Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –In front of an electric crowd inside the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, rodeo athletes from across the globe were crowned champions and walked away with upwards of $553,000. The Triple Crown of Rodeo Round saw three TCR eligible athletes enter the TCR Round, where all of the eligible athletes for the $1 million bonus were eliminated.
 
The Triple Crown of Rodeo is an annual bonus that pays a $1 Million cash award to any one athlete or collection of athletes who win first place in any three consecutive WCRA Major Rodeos.

WCRA Announces 2022 Rodeo Corpus Christi Final Athlete Roster

Austin, Texas - Ahead of the 2022 Rodeo Corpus Christi, WCRA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) has announced the final roster of the 355 athletes who have qualified and entered for the May 8-14 event and their date of competition.
 
Rodeo Corpus Christi is playing host to the first stop to the WCRA’s Triple Crown of Rodeo (TCR) during the 2022 series and will have a guaranteed payout of $553,000. Each champion will walk away with a minimum of $15,000.
 
The roster is comprised of 275 timed event athletes and 80 roughstock athletes who qualified by nominating their efforts on the WCRA VRQ leaderboard.

Tacy Kay Webb Wins the Cowtown Christmas Championship Rodeo To Be In Contention To Be the First Victor of the WCRA Triple Crown of Rodeo $1 Million Bonus

FORT WORTH, Texas – As the event was down to one eligible athlete in the Triple Crown of Rodeo (TCR) at the Dec. 18 Cowtown Christmas Championship Rodeo, breakaway roping had the fans inside the Cowtown Coliseum on the edge of their seats. Tacy Kay Webb, the 24-year-old ICU Nurse was the undeniable star of the rodeo, delivering what would be the most groundbreaking performance of the event. As only one of two athletes remaining TCR eligible in the final round of competition, her 2.49-second effort elevated her to a $12,500 payday. For Webb, fresh off her win at July’s Days of ’47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo, the event marked her second consecutive WCRA Major, putting her in contention to be a millionaire. If Webb triumphs at May’s Rodeo Corpus Christi, she will be the first victor of the WCRA Triple Crown of Rodeo $1 Million Bonus.
