Smidt, the reigning world champion and NFR average champion, is in a zone at the 2023 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Teton Ridge.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –In front of an electric crowd inside the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, rodeo athletes from across the globe were crowned champions and walked away with upwards of $553,000. The Triple Crown of Rodeo Round saw three TCR eligible athletes enter the TCR Round, where all of the eligible athletes for the $1 million bonus were eliminated.
The Triple Crown of Rodeo is an annual bonus that pays a $1 Million cash award to any one athlete or collection of athletes who win first place in any three consecutive WCRA Major Rodeos.

LAS VEGAS – Less than two weeks before the 2021 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Teton Ridge, tie-down roper Shane Hanchey was dealt some adversity.
The primary horse Hanchey was aboard all season – TJ – passed away. The horse was owned by Logan Bird.
Hanchey said the loss wouldn’t set him back at the Wrangler NFR and it didn’t – at least for Round 1.
The Sulphur, La., native clocked a 7.4-second run to win the round before 16,804 fans at the Thomas & Mack Center.

In addition to Leme and Whitehorse, the bulls also starred in the Championship Sunday finale of PBR’s new team tournament, the Monster Energy Team Challenge, live on CBS with fans welcomed back into the arena. The bulls dominated the matchup, producing five scores over 45 points in the first half, and seven during the game.
Team Cooper Tires Captain Jose Vitor Leme got the scoring going, taking care of business aboard Sitting Bull (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Diamond Willow) for 88.75 points to end the first half.

LAS VEGAS – With just two days of competition remaining in Division A at the Pendleton Whisky Let ‘Er Buck Saloon at South Point Arena in Las Vegas, the first game of Challenge Day 4 for the PBR Monster Energy Team Challenge, presented by U.S. Border Patrol, was a highly-anticipated bubble match, pitting No. 3 Team Can-Am against No. 4 Team Union Home Mortgage.
Stetson Lawrence was about as surprised as those watching at home when he learned that his Team Cooper Tires teammate Sage Kimzey would not be getting on his second bull on Saturday night.
The reigning six-time PRCA champion had aggravated a chronic right elbow injury during his 3.44-second buckoff against Skitso in Round 1 of Team Cooper Tires game against Team YETI and was unable to continue.
