Guy and Stahl bank $52K at Charlie 1 Horse All-Girl Team Roping

At the Charlie 1 Horse All-Girl Challenge Team Roping on March 17 in Guthrie’s Lazy E Arena, Hall-of-Fame cowgirl Lari Dee Guy won first with Annette Stahl and second with last year’s champ, Whitney DeSalvo, to take home $28,375 to Abilene, Texas.
The event is part of Wrangler BFI Week presented by Yeti, which kicked off on March 14 with the 44th Bob Feist Invitational (BFI) for the pros. Annually the richest all-female team roping in the country, this year’s Charlie 1 Horse Challenge fielded 229 teams from across the country, up from 184 teams last year.

Inaugural Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping. Breakaway Roping World Champion To Be Crowned – $200,000 Purse!

In conjunction with the 2020 Wrangler® National Finals Rodeo (NFR) at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, women ropers will compete for the first-ever world championship: The Wrangler® National Finals Breakaway Roping (NFBR) and a $200,000 purse at this three-day event.
 
Breakaway roping is one of the hottest events sanctioned by the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA), and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) is proud to share the venue with some of the best cowgirls in rodeo for this event. The PRCA and the WPRA have been working together for the last year to promote breakaway roping and grow the sport.

Desalvo Wins $29k as Charlie 1 Horse All-Girl Challenge Team Roping Champion During the Last Day of the Wrangler BFl Presented by YETI. Thompson Tops Headers for $21k.

At the Charlie 1 Horse All-Girl Challenge Team Roping on June 24, Whitney DeSalvo of Springfield, Arkansas, left no doubt about her status as the world’s best female heeler.
DeSalvo, just 25, took the top three placings with three different partners to haul a staggering $28,875 in cash back to Arkansas plus a truckload of prizes. The three-time WPRA world champion won the roping with Hope Thompson of Abilene, Texas, who raked in $20,750 total.

Miller Top Barrel Racer over the Fourth of July

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – In 2017, Emily Miller of Weatherford, Okla., barely missed making the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo finishing 17th. Fast forward to the 2019 Fourth of July run known in the rodeo business as “Cowboy Christmas” and Miller is hoping the money won will propel her to her first Wrangler NFR berth. Miller was the big money winner over the Fourth of July in the WPRA with a total of $17,358 won at three rodeos.
