In 2021 Aqha-Approved Shows Will Have the Opportunity To Offer Additional Age Divisions in the Popular Ranch Riding Class


Beginning in 2021, AQHA shows will be able to offer additional age divisions in ranch riding: For horses 3 years of age and older, the class can be offered as Level 1, junior, senior or an all-age open-division class. For youth and amateur exhibitors, options include an all-age class for Level 1 youth, youth, 13-&-Under and 14-18 youth, Level 1 amateur, Level 1 Select amateur, Select amateur and amateur. The rule change is designed to enhance the showing experience by providing more opportunities for exhibitors in this ever-popular class.

In a series of meetings and votes between March and August 2020, the Deutsche Quarter Horse Association (DQHA) membership made clear its intention to take the necessary steps to realign as an affiliate of the American Quarter Horse Association, the world’s largest equine breed organization.DQHA: The Amendment of the Statute Has Been Notarized – the Data Share Agreement Has Been Signed. The Way To Rejoin the Aqha Is Clear Now!


It’s finally done: on August 18 at 12 a.m., the new DQHA President Thomas Dixon signed the amendment of the statute for the German Quarter Horse Association before a notary. So that, from now on, the "AQHA Breeding Stud Book" will be kept as guideline instead of the previously used ”Original Breeding Stud Book ".
