Andrea Fappani and Gun Dun It Win National Reining Breeders Classic Open Preliminary Round

The field is set for the 2021 National Reining Breeders Classic Open Finals, which will be held Saturday, April 24 at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas.It was two intense days of competition, and in the end, it was four-time NRBC Open Champion and NRHA $6 Million Rider Andrea Fappani who topped the round. Fappani piloted Gun Dun It, owned by Tim Anderson, for a score of 226 to win $14,011. Gun Dun It, bred by NRHA Million Dollar Owner Dave Silva, is by NRHA $12 Million Sire Gunner and out of Dun It In Tinseltown.

There was a tie for first in the Level 3 Open between Gabe Hutchins and Guns In My Genes and Gunny Mathison on Shes Reddy On Line, with both entries marking a 221.5.
Guns In My Genes, a 5-year-old stallion by Tinker With Guns and out of Taris Designer Genes, is owned by Tamarack Ranch and was bred by Rancho Oso Rio. Shes Reddy On Line, a 5-year-old mare by Shine On Line and out of Guns R Reddy, is owned and was bred by Mary Jansma/Bozidar Ranch.
Billy Williams and Tinkers Little Step won the Level 2 Open with a 219.5. Owned and bred by Biffle Morris, Tinkers Little Step is a 5-year-old stallion by Tinker With Guns and out of Wimpys Seductress.  
Winning the Level 1 Open is Max Fontana and Gunnaflashmycash with a 216.5. By Gunnatrashya out of Nu Tuf Lil Chex, Gunnaflashmycash is owned by Sleipner LLC. The 6-year-old gelding was bred by Kim Muehlstaetter.
The NRBC’s Development Division Championship is decided in the preliminary round, and NRHA $6 Million Rider Shawn Flarida won the division on Americas Got Talent. Americas Got Talent, owned by Marie Whitmarsh is by NRHA $11 Million Sire Wimpys Little Step and out of Americasnextgunmodel. The 4-year-old colt was bred by NRHA $2 Million Owner Arcese Quarter Horses USA.
Flarida also topped the Open Prime Time and finished second in the Level 4 Open on Guns And Dynamite with a 224.5. Guns And Dynamite, by NRHA $4 Million Sire Gunners Special Nite and out of Chic Olena Starbuck, is owned by Kirsten Booth. The 5-year-old stallion was bred by Turnabout Farm Inc.
In the Level 4, a score of 220 was needed to advance to the finals, while in the Level 3 the magic number was a 215.5. Riders in the Level 2 marking a 212.5 or better earned a finals berth, as did Prime Timers with a 214 (with handicap) or higher.
The Open finalists were celebrated during the Matt Mills Reining Horses Open Draw Party Thursday evening. The event, originally slated to be virtual, was well-attended and enjoyed.
The large field of finalists required a schedule change for Saturday. The first section of the Open Finals will begin at 8 a.m., and the Level 4 Finals should begin at 5 p.m. as scheduled. The Short Stirrup class that was set to be held in the Coliseum Arena will now be held at 8:30 a.m. in the Wheless Arena, followed by the Novice Horse Open and Green Reiner classes.
