COLUMBUS, OH – Cutting has been an integral part of the All American Quarter Horse Congress since its inception in 1967. In the beginning, the Congress began as a long weekend show and has grown to span over four weekends in the fall. Since the demands of producing a quality cutting requires so much more time and space than other quarter horse classes, it was decided this year to move it to a nearby location where space and time were not an issue. This move will be more user friendly to the cutters and will allow the cutting to grow at its own pace in the future.

Two years ago, Joschka Werdermann took the AMERICANA Ranch Riding European Open Championship with a bang. In the 2021 edition, with two horses entered, as draw #2 he set the bar with a 152 score aboard 12-year-old Ruff Commander (Ruf Lil Rascal x Peppys Especial Lena). No one was able to beat the score, not even Joschka himself with his second mount—last in the draw— the Criollo-bred CP Chaca Teso (owned by Jacqueline Gulden-Schütz) whom he came out of the arena with a 149 score taking the two highest scores of the go round.
