2023 Western Horseman Stock Horse of Texas World Championship Show & Ordner Insurance/American Reliable Insurance Derby Update

While the temperatures fluctuated the week of the 2023 Western Horseman Stock Horse of Texas World Championship Show and Ordner Insurance/ American Reliable Insurance Derby, the competition remained fierce throughout the event, culminating in 13 new world champions and two Derby champions titles given as well as more than $150,000 in payout and prizes awarded. The 2023 show surpassed previous years in both entries and purse money.

2023 Kimes Ranch Jeans Western Derby Largest Western Derby To Date

As we have all made it home from the 2023 Kimes Ranch Jeans Western Derby, we want to thank our competitors, owners, fans, and sponsors for making the largest Western Derby ever a huge success!
Over the course of 11 days, we had over 3,000 total entries across our Derby, Spectaculars, and Horse Show classes and paid over $1.3 million.

The Run For A Million Expands Cow Horse Events in 2023

The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) is excited to partner with The Run For A Million again in 2023 with an expanded slate of cow horse competitions. The Run For A Million returns to the South Point Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas August 16-19.

2023 NRCHA Hackamore Classic Moves to Tulsa, OK

This event was previously held in conjunction with the Snaffle Bit Futurity® in Fort Worth, Texas. The move is largely due to the growth that the NRCHA is seeing across the board with entries and the desire to keep premier event schedules optimal for competitors and the equine athletes alike.

Bet Hesa Cat Becomes Newest NRCHA Two Million Dollar Sire

Reined cow horse events and the corresponding class purses grew considerably in 2022. In turn, many sires and dams saw offspring launch them into new earnings brackets within the industry, including Bet Hesa Cat, the newest National Reined Cow Horse Association Two Million Dollar Sire.

National Reined Cow Horse Association Wraps Banner Year with Record-Breaking Snaffle Bit Futurity®

When the last horse rode out of the historic Will Rogers Coliseum at the 2022 National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity®, presented by Metallic Cat, it closed the door on a record-breaking year for NRCHA premier event entries and purses awarded, and did so in style. For the third straight year, the annual futurity saw a rise in entries, and in 2022 more than $1,000,000 was awarded in added money and prizes in Youth, Non Pro and Open classes during the show.
The final of the five annual premier NRCHA events produced by the nationwide organization brought the top 3-year-old horses to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete for the largest cow horse futurity purse to date, with the Open Futurity Champion Tornado Jonez, owned by Brandy Ragland and shown by Lee Deacon, being awarded $200,000, and the Non Pro Champion Debbie Crafton, taking home $40,000.

12 Stock Horse of Texas World Champions Crowned and $112,865 Awarded at World Championship Show

The 2022 Stock Horse of Texas Western Horseman World Championship Show saw 3,066 entries compete in twelve divisions for the chance to earn the title of all-around World champion from October 26 through October 30 at the Taylor County Expo in Abilene, Texas. When the dust settled from the last of the 650 cattle worked during the show, competitors walked away with not only bragging rights but also $43,680 and another $69,185 in prizes.

National Reined Cow Horse Association Gains Its First Three Million Dollar Rider

The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) gained its first Three Million Dollar Rider, Corey Cushing, during the 2022 Snaffle Bit Futurity® presented by Metallic Cat. Following the Open Bridle Corey Cushing surpassed this benchmark bringing his lifetime earnings to $3,002,327.

2022 National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity® Set to Break Records

On October 6, the 2022 National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity®, presented by Metallic Cat, rolls back to Cowtown. This year, the premier event for reined cow horses boasts the biggest payday in the history of the event for the Futurity Open Champion, brings back the Hackamore Classic presented by Oswood Stallion Station, and continues fan favorite events like the Cowboy Class, the Metallic Cat After Party following the October 22 Finals, and multiple special events.

Nick Dowers Crosses NRCHA Million Dollar Mark

The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) welcomes Nick Dowers of Dyer, Nevada to the coveted NRCHA Million Dollar Club.
Dowers crossed the Million Dollar Rider earnings mark when he earned at the National Stock Horse Association Futurity Open Champion title aboard Cabanna Boy. With $1,006,910.74 in NRCHA earnings to his name, Dowers is now part of an elite group of reined cow horse competitors.
