For European riders, the third leg of the Morocco Royal Tour in El Jadida marks a smooth transition from the summer season to indoor competition under the best possible circumstances. For example, on a track worthy of the finest arenas on the World Cup circuit. The first day of this return to indoors featured two “appetizing” events, while the serious business begins tomorrow with the qualifying round for the 4* Grand Prix.

As the sun dipped below the mountains in Tetouan, the action was just beginning for CSI4*-W 1.50m PRIX DE DAKHLA riders. Namely, Emanuele Guadiano (ITA), for there is no Moroccan Royal Tour (MRT) title this ambitious Italian won’t fight for. Despite landing in the unfavorable position of first-to-go, Guadiano naturally laid it all out on the table with 11-year-old stallion Nikolaj de Music, crossing the timers in a blistering 37.71 seconds.

Italy's Emanuele Gaudiano, one of Morocco Royal Tour's most loyal riders, has won a respectable number of classes in Tetouan over the last ten years (as last Thursday and Friday with Jaja), but he has never won the Grand Prix. This is now the case, thanks to his powerful 10-year-old Belgian stallion Nikolaj de Music.

Niels Bruynseels Captures the HUBSIDE JUMPING de Grimaud CSI 4* Grand Prix

Experience was the keynote of the Grand Prix which gathered together the best riders on the planet, bringing these four weeks of competition to an end in the South of France. Three experienced riders finished on the HUBSIDE JUMPING’s final podium for this summer season, ahead of the young generation, which was very threatening in this Grand Prix. Belgium’s Niels Bruynseels was the winner riding Gancia de Muze. He finished ahead of Ireland’s Denis Lynch with Cristello and Italy’s Emanuele Guadiano, with Chalou.

"I'm extremely lucky to ride such an amazing mare. Each round with her is a pleasure - even more so at a show like this one where the stands are packed", he commented.
