A raucous crowd was entertained by incredible runs in the Jim Norick Coliseum as the scores of the 2023 National Reining Horse Association Futurity MS Diamonds TX Level 4 Finals climbed higher and higher. The audience was confident that Brian Bell and Crystalized Whizkey would take the win with a 225.5, but if the sport has proven anything, it’s that it’s not over until it’s over.


The Jim Norick Coliseum was rocking on Friday, Dec. 1, for the Finals of the 2023 National Reining Horse Association CINCH Non Pro Futurity. The night was filled with all the emotions one could want in a finals, with everyone from first-timers to veterans vying for a title.

A competitive field of 3-year-old horses and their riders tested their skills Nov. 29 in the Jim Norick Coliseum for the Level 4 Open Semi-Finals sponsored by Not Ruf At All, hoping to put together a second solid run that would earn them a trip to the MS Diamonds TX Level 4 Open Finals on Dec. 2. All day, scores kept going up and up, as riders added the semifinal scores to their first-round scores for composites that indicate consistency as well as fiery talent.

A tribute to Steve Guerdat: To mark the tenth anniversary of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping (RGS), CHI Geneva will hold a ceremony in honour of Steve Guerdat on the Saturday evening of this year’s event.
The organisers of the four prestigious Majors that make up the RGS were quick to agree to pay tribute to the Swiss rider in a special ceremony, to be held at Palexpo at 21:10 on Saturday 9 December. The winner of four Major events – three of them coming since the creation of the RGS in 2013 – Guerdat is the only rider to compete at every Major in the last ten years, appearing at 34 events out of 34 in that time.

Following the IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA 3-year-old Non Pro Futurity Finals, the 4-year-olds left their mark in the CremonaFiere arena by lighting up the evening with an exciting Open Finals. Taking their fourth major win after claiming the 2022 IRHA/IRHBA Open Futurity, the 2023 NRHA European Futurity Open, and the NRHA Germany Breeders 4-year-old Futurity Championships, tonight Cortesi and the Eleuterio Arcese-Roberto Cuoghi owned stallion by Master Snapper out of San July Jo Magnetic and bred by Giacomo Ronchi and Cuoghi left the best for last by besting the 222.5 score posted by Arnaud Girinon and Flexing Guns N Town by half a point.


The first 3-year-old Futurity Champions were crowned today in Cremona, Italy, where the $600.000-added IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA Futurity is being held. Up for grabs were the titles in the GD Performance Horses $199.840-added Non Pro Futurity. Closing the day was the $109.140-added Quarter Dream 4-year-old Open Futurity.


Cremona, November 16 — Thursday action in Cremona, where the $600.000-added IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA Futurity is being held, featured the Rabboni Performance Horses $51.360-added IRHA/NRHA 4-year-old Non Pro Futurity Finals.


Cremona, November 13 — Held in Cremona, Italy, on November 9-18, the 38th edition of the $600.000-added IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA Futurity presented by DeNiroBootCo today offered the Rabboni Performance Horses $51.360-added IRHA/NRHA 4-year-old Non Pro Futurity qualifier as well as the GD Performance Horses Non Pro Consolation for the $119.840-added IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA 3-year-old Non Pro Futurity where five combinations earned a spot for the Finals which will be held on Friday, 17.


Cremona, November 12 — The $254.660-added IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA 3-year-old Open Futurity horses today made their debut in Cremona, Italy, in the first go round of the competition. Held in a two go round format and seeded finals, the pressure was on and at the end of the day, Italian Professional Manuel Cortesi and Frozen Sven — fresh off their win at the NRHA Germany Open Futurity — rode to a 224 to top the $170.622-added Level (L)4 counting 70 entries.


A day full of action once again filled CremonaFiere in Cremona, Italy, as 95 combinations entered across the four levels rode their 4-year-olds vying for a spot in the finals of the $109.140-added Open Futurity.
