Experience was the keynote of the Grand Prix which gathered together the best riders on the planet, bringing these four weeks of competition to an end in the South of France. Three experienced riders finished on the HUBSIDE JUMPING’s final podium for this summer season, ahead of the young generation, which was very threatening in this Grand Prix. Belgium’s Niels Bruynseels was the winner riding Gancia de Muze. He finished ahead of Ireland’s Denis Lynch with Cristello and Italy’s Emanuele Guadiano, with Chalou.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The world’s No. 1 bull rider, Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil), powered his team to the first multi-event team championship in PBR history with key support from a surging Keyshawn Whitehorse (McCraken Springs, Utah). In addition to Leme and Whitehorse, the bulls also starred in the Championship Sunday finale of PBR’s new team tournament, the Monster Energy Team Challenge, live on CBS with fans welcomed back into the arena. The bulls dominated the matchup, producing five scores over 45 points in the first half, and seven during the game.
Team Cooper Tires Captain Jose Vitor Leme got the scoring going, taking care of business aboard Sitting Bull (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Diamond Willow) for 88.75 points to end the first half.

Kristen VanderVeen (USA) and Bull Run’s Faustino De Tili sped to a 36.579-second jump-off round to take the win in Saturday’s $73,000 JTWG, Inc. Grand Prix CSI 2* at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) at Tryon Resort. Brittni Raflowitz (ISR) and Hilton van de Breepoel, a 2007 Belgian Warmblood gelding (Contact Van de Heffinck x Opium) owned by ESI Show Jumpers, Maarten Huygens & Darragh Kerins, claimed reserve honors with a time of 39.153 seconds, with the yellow rosette going to Todd Minikus (USA) aboard the Bit by Bit Group’s Amex Z, the 2009 Zangersheide mare (Andiamo Z x Landaris), stopping the timers in 36.764 seconds with four faults.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – As PBR (Professional Bull Riders) welcomed fans back into the arena to the first live sporting event since mid-March in Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, Game One of the Monster Energy Team Challenge Playoffs ended in a 0-0 tie. Team Las Vegas and Team Boot Barn went head-to-head on the dirt, but were flattened by a raucous pen of bulls, who jerked and whipped and violently flung all eight cowboys over 14 outs, turning in 10 bull scores of more than 43 points. Team Las Vegas (4-2-1) will move on to Playoff Day Two Saturday based upon its regular season aggregate score, keeping its Monster Energy Team Challenge Championship hopes alive. After the loss, Team Boot Barn (3-2-2) headed to a consolation game for fifth place. Team Las Vegas moves on to play Division B No. 1 seed Team Pendleton Whisky tomorrow, Saturday, July 11. The winner of that game will secure a berth in the Monster Energy Team Challenge Championship.
“The bull power is the same it was in Vegas,” said Team Las Vegas Captain Stetson Wright. 
“I just didn’t show up ready tonight obviously. But luckily my team rode good coming in during the regular season and we are moving on.”

The 2020 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, the 2020 New Mexico Bred Sale and the Foal In Utero Sale will be conducted at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma on August 27th, 28th, and 29th.  After weighing several factors relating to the annual horse sales, specifically the current New Mexico Public Health Order which limits mass gatherings,  All-American Ruidoso Horse Sale will partner with Lazy E Arena, located just north of Oklahoma City, to hold the sales.

Cutters Back in Cowtown

Expect back numbers for horses, face masks for humans afoot, and unexcelled competition, as the 2020 NCHA Metallic Cat Summer Cutting Spectacular begins its 24-day run on Friday, July 10, at Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth.
The action begins on Friday with eight sets of 5- & 6-year-old Classic Challenge Open competitors. The go-round will conclude with two sets on Saturday, followed by five sets of Derby Open first go-round competition. The Derby Open go-round will conclude on Sunday, July 12, with eight sets.

Todd Minikus (USA) and Amex Z had a moment of disagreement on course and still dominated the jump-off in a time of 37.767 seconds to claim a $37,000 Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake CSI 2* win at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) to kick off Tryon Summer 5 competition. Just behind on a time of 37.875 seconds, Sydney Shulman (ISR) and Azilis Du Mesnil, Jill Shulman’s 2009 Selle Francais mare (Tinka’s Boy x Jarnac), took second place, with Lillie Keenan (USA) and Fasther, the Chansonette Farm LLC entry and 2010 Dutch Warmblood gelding (Vigo D’Arsouilles x Farmer), stopping the timers at 38.277 seconds for third.
