The 2022 Austrian Reining Horse Futurity (ARHA) and NRHA Show is scheduled for August 17 to 20, 2022 in Wiener Neustadt, Austria. The traditional show, which has been listed in the top 25 reining events in the world for the past 16 years [based on prize money], offers excellent show conditions and a very special atmosphere, as well as a considerable purse and awards.
This year host Helmut Schulz of Western Training Center H&D Schulz Quarter Horses is increasing the prize money to a whopping $100,000-added! “Despite the pandemic, the last two editions of the Austrian Futurity went well,” said Schulz. “By increasing the added to $100,000 we want to celebrate the fact that that our sport is moving forth on a positive note.
We are looking forward to the Futurity in 2022.”
The NRHA approved Futurity is open to all-breed 3- and 4-year-old horses, and both the Open and Non Pro divisions will feature four levels. All classes are NRHA approved. In the
Futurity classes, both 3- and 4-year-old horses can be shown either two handed in a snaffle bit or hackamore, or single handed in a bit. Benefitting the ARHA Futurity, once again be a stallion auction with top-class stallions will be offered.
Not only is the Futurity very popular on the international reining stage; the NRHA ancillary classes are also well attended, in particular the Open and Non Pro Bronze Trophies.
