The first qualifier for the 2023 Run For A Million cutting competition will be held at the upcoming Brazos Bash.
STRUCTURE FOR THE 2023 RUN FOR A MILLION CUTTING COMPETITION QUALIFIER
FORT WORTH – The first qualifier for the 2023 Run For A Million cutting competition will be held at the upcoming Brazos Bash held at Bosque Ranch in Weatherford, Texas, from October 4 through 17, 2022.
This innovative event will showcase the sport of cutting on a new level while introducing the sport to a fresh audience through the fan base the Run For A Million has developed over the years since its inception with reining horses. The sport of cutting is the pinnacle of Western sports and being showcased on this stage will offer the sport tremendous growth opportunity both in and out of the arena.

The western riding scene has reacted with great sadness to the death of Horst Geier. The initiator and longtime manager of Americana passed away this week at the age of 79. Horst was one of the great visionaries of European western riding and western horse breeding, who, among other things, made Americana what it is today. "We were saddened to learn of the death of our longtime business partner and companion Horst Geier," said AFAG management. "Our thoughts are with his family and all his friends!"

Talented and dedicated horsemen and women paired with gifted and prepotent horses have been mainstays in the reining industry since its beginning decades ago. That’s why the National Reining Horse Association created the NRHA Hall of Fame in 1986. With the Reining Horse Foundation, these individuals, their achievements, and their contributions to the industry are celebrated and remembered.
Following the August presentation of the NRHA Hall of Fame Committee’s recommended nominees, the Board of Directors and past Hall of Fame inductees voted to approve Jim and Pat Warren, Dutch Chapman, and Spooks Gotta Whiz for induction into the NRHA Hall of Fame.

Matt Koch Becomes NRCHA Newest Million Dollar Rider

The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) is proud to welcome NRCHA Professional Matt Koch of Elizabeth, Colorado, as NRCHA’s newest Million Dollar Rider.
Koch crossed the million-dollar mark following his run aboard XIT Ranch’s Smart Ladies Sparkle at The Run For A Million in Las Vegas. The pair secured a check for $3,500, well surpassing the amount needed for Koch to pass the milestone.

Longines EEF Nations Cup 2022: Eleven Teams Competing for the Title

Zaventem Belgium, September 5th 2022 - Everything is ready in Poland for the Longines EEF Series Final, the conclusion of the series launched by the European Equestrian Federation (EEF), in order to provide young talented riders, as well as up-and-coming horse and rider combinations and emerging European nations with a chance to gain experience and improve technically at top level shows.

After eight qualifying shows and two semi-finals that have brought back and confirmed exceptional locations in the international Nations Cup series, eleven teams will now compete in the Warsaw CSIO 3* Jumping at the Sluzewiec racetrack from September 8th to September 11th.



XIT Ranch Acquires Renowned Stallion Kit Kat Sugar

CHANNING, TEXAS – The historic XIT Ranch has acquired 2008 stallion Kit Kat Sugar. The ranch, based in Channing, Texas, with equine operations in La Veta, Colorado, once relegated to the history pages, has had a rebirth in recent years, led by third great grandson of original ranch founder and owner John V. Farwell, Drew Knowles, who is focused on breeding the highest quality cattle and Quarter Horses.
