$730.000-Added IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA Futurity: First and Second Place Sweep for Cortesi in the 4-Year-Old Open Futurity

Cremona, November 15 — In Cremona, Italy, where the $730,000-Added IRHA/IRHBA/NRHA Futurity is being held, the 4-year-old Open Futurity concluded the day with an emotional final. Taking both the Level 4 Champion and Reserve titles, Italian rider Manuel Cortesi delivered a powerful and precise run, scoring 227.5 with Frozen Sven, a stallion by NRHA Three Million Dollar Sire SG Frozen Enterprize out of Ladymaster, owned by 7 Heaven Reining Horses and bred by Roberto Cuoghi. Cortesi went on to secure second place with a 225 aboard Knockin On Ice, a stallion also by SG Frozen Enterprize out of San July Jo Magnetic, bred by Giacomo Ronchi and owned by Michael Agostini.

Since the launch of the FEI Dressage World Cup stage in Lyon in 2009, the German rider had already won this major event in the Rhône-Alpes region six times. And today, she made it seven! Riding DSP Quantaz, the star of dressage in Lyon won this World Cup stage for the seventh time (in fifteen years) in front of an adoring crowd.

This morning, the FEI Dressage World CupTM got underway at the Longines Equita Lyon, Concours Hippique International, the first of four FEI World CupsTM stages to be held at the event this year! The world's top riders battled it out in the Grand Prix presented by CRE-ARA in the arena at Lyon-Eurexpo. It ended with another victory for the queen of the discipline, Germany's Isabell Werth, riding DSP Quantaz, and an extremely fine third place for France's Pauline Basquin, on Sertorius de Rima Z IFCE, the Olympic pairing, who this summer had the spectators in Versailles dancing to sound of Alors on Danse (So, let's dance) by Stromae during their freestyle routine!

The event’s 14th edition opened with 122 competitive horse-and-rider duos, each vying for a coveted spot in the Non Pro finals on Friday, November 1.

The FEI Driving World Cup™ Presented by Laiterie de Montaigu at Longines Equita Lyon

Lyon will play host to seven of the world's most talented drivers who will be battling it out in the first leg of the 2024-2025 FEI Driving World Cup™ season. As Australia's Boyd Exell, his long-time rival will be absent, Dutch driver Ijsbrand Chardon, is hoping to have a win in Lyon. But that's without counting on young Belgian driver Dries Degrieck, who has already beaten the discipline's two leading drivers in Leipzig this year.

Mastering a Million. Master Snapper, NRHA Million Dollar Sire

A reining stallion with European roots is a National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Million Dollar Sire.
Master Snapper was bred by M. Fausto and A. Adani of Italy and is owned by Impresa Agricola Cuoghi. The 2001 stallion by Snapper Cal Bar and out of Colonel Mistress found his own success in the show pen in Europe and the United States before entering the breeding shed.
