History will be made in Cremona, Italy, where the National Reining Horse Association European Futurity will be the first event in Europe to guarantee $1 million added money. Held during the Salone del Cavallo Americano on May 22–26, the event is supported by NRHA Hall of Fame Inductee Eleuterio Arcese in collaboration with the Italian Reining Horse Association, TFY, a select group of supporters, and the NRHA Nomination Program money. This event will be the first of its kind for Europe and will create incredible opportunities for riders, breeders, owners, and fans.
It was an exciting evening in Kreuth, Germany, as the NRHA Germany 4-year-old Futurity Finals closed the event at the Ostbayernhalle. The stands were filled with the crowd cheering loud for the riders until the very end.“In the past years, the Futurity — open to horses entered in the Breeders Program — was mostly for German riders, but this year, it felt truly international with riders from so many different countries. Also, so many visitors came to watch and that makes it a good show also for the vendors and sponsors; we are very happy about this,” said NRHA Germany Board Member Grischa Ludwig.

Taking the lead in the Level (L)4 Non Pro division was Spain with Andreu Nogue Puig and his mare, Simple The Best 66, closing their powerful run with a 221.5. The Breeders Futurity is open to horses nominated in the Breeding Program which counted an amazing 760 weanlings nominated in 2021.

October, 24—Provided by International Horse Press— The 2021 NRHA Germany Breeders 4-year-old Open Futurity Finals concluded the week-long show at the Pferdesportzentrum Ostbayernhalle in Kreuth, Germany. 146 riders aboard 235 horses met to compete during the whole week and the best horse-rider combinations returned on Saturday for the 4-year-old Non Pro and Open Finals.
Kreuth, October 24—By International Horse Press—Nadia Schieder entered the pen as the last competitor in the finals aboard her gelding RM Spooksgottastar (NRHA Three Million Dollar Sire Spooks Gotta Whiz x Starmax Rm). After winning all four levels of the go round with a 215 score, Schieder did not expect to do even better in the Finals, so she was very excited about her run which she closed with a 218.5: “I am just so happy. I have never had the opportunity to ride such a good horse. He was bred by our friend [Massimo Rudari] and trained by my husband [Italian Professional Max Ruggeri] from the beginning for our clients and about a month ago they decided to sell him, so we purchased him and it was the best choice in a long time.” The Italian rider shared that when she went to his stall before the run, the horse neighed at her. “That was a sign…after the run, I told my husband ‘now he is a true non pro horse,’” said the smiling Champion after claiming the titles in all four levels. Schieder next plans to show her horse in Cremona, Italy at the Italian Reining Horse Futurity, and then she will give him a long winter break surely deserves.
