    American Quarter Horse Association has members in more than 100 countries around the world. For that reason, it’s necessary that key forms are translated to languages beyond English and Spanish. AQHA is proud to introduce a new multilingual resource library of essential forms for international and domestic members to utilize in their language.

  • DQHA Affiliate Agreement Not Renewed by AQHA

    AQHA does not renew affiliate agreement with the Deutsche Quarter Horse Association.

    On February 15, the American Quarter Horse Association announced it has terminated its relationship and will not renew its affiliate agreement with the Deutsche Quarter Horse Association (DQHA), which served as the AQHA affiliate in Germany.

  • European Commission Clarifies Studbook of Origin with AQHA and DQHA

    The American Quarter Horse Association and its German affiliate, DQHA, get clarification from the European Commission on studbook of origin.

    On January 27, leaders and staff from the American Quarter Horse Association met with representatives of the German affiliate (DQHA), the German agricultural ministry and Bavarian competent authority at the European Commission offices in Brussels. The goal of the meeting was to close the contested topic of studbook of origin for the American Quarter Horse.

    An American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) membership summit is conducted every other year for each region to review international department specific and general AQHA news, task force updates, rule changes, funding structures, educational seminars and any other information that's pertinent to the region. Topics of discussion also include short and long-term goals for the AQHA International Department, as well as business plan goals for the affiliate organizations.

  • Small but Mighty: Small Fry Division

    The Small Fry division is a fierce competition for high honors. The competitors? Talented horses with dedicated riders, all under the age of 9 years old. The Small Fry division includes classes in Showmanship, Western Horsemanship, Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation, and Trail. The High Point award is given to the young rider with the most points from placing in these classes.
