Cremona, May 19 — The 2026 edition of the $1 Million-Added NRHA European Futurity kicked off with a bang today in Cremona, Italy, with riders competing in the first section of the $300.000-Added Non Pro Futurity hitting the ground.

First to enter the show pen today was young Anna-Maria Zehetbauer of Austria riding SS Tarzan (NRHA $4 Million Sire Pale Face Dunnit x Xtra Taris Voodoo), a gelding owned and nominated by Zeidelhof Reining Horses. The pair closed their impressive run with a 220 score which held until the end of the day to lead the Level 4. The second section will take place tomorrow, followed by the first section of the Open Futurity.

The Non Pro division of the Euro Futurity counts 318 entries across the four levels, the highest number since its inception in 2009. APHA Chrome Cash Non Pro entries this year have risen to 35 across the four levels.

Gina Schumacher (GER) and Claudio Risso (ITA) are the only two riders to have claimed the Level 4 Championship more than once. Both have three European Futurity L4 Non Pro titles to their name.

The NRHA European Futurity is hosted during the 39th edition of the Salone del Cavallo Americano at CremonaFiere. The fair has expanded by another 10%, confirming its position as Europe’s leading Western event covering 100,000 square meters, welcoming 700 horses and 1000 riders, 270 exhibitors, and over 30,000 spectators expected.
The NCHA of Italy Derby and Spring Show, Team Penning, and Ranch Sorting will also be held, along with 5,000 Country Passion line dancers.
