Cremona, May 21 — In Cremona, Italy, where the 18th edition of the NRHA European Futurity is taking place, the second section of the $700,000-Added Open Futurity qualifier determined who punched their tickets to the Open Finals on Saturday, May 23.

Leading the $420.000- Added Level (L)4 and $154.000-Added L3 Open was Luca Piccolo who rode MC Spatagun (Spatatino x Sheza Smoken CD), a double-registered APHA/AQHA mare, to a 223 score. The pretty bay was bred and nominated by Azienda Agricola Pegaso, and is owned by Maria Pia Sassone.

Topping the $91.000-Added L2 Open with a score of 220 was Matteo Cuniglio riding NRHA $2 Million Owner Rosanne Sternberg’s Voodoo Gotta Whiz (NRHA $13 Million Sire Spooks Gotta Whiz x Voodoo Sister), a mare bred and nominated by Francesco Groppelli.

The $35.000-Added L1 Open top score, a 216.5, was for Simone Stefano riding Luca Piolanti’s PC Mermaid For Me (PC Magnum Step Dream x PC Sliderina For Me), a mare bred and nominated by Az. Agr. Cortesi Piero.

Level 4 – 71 entries: 218.5 (20 finalists + ties)
Level 3 – 91 entries: 216.5 (20 finalists + ties)
Level 2 – 89 entries: 212 (20 finalists + ties)
Level 1 – 39 entries: 208.5 (15 finalists + ties)
APHA Chrome Cash Finalists:
Chrome Cash saw a total of 71 entries across the four levels with a total of eight making the L4 Finals, ten in L3, nine in L2, and four in L1.

The Open Finals will be held on Saturday, May 23, with the L4 Open Champion receiving a guaranteed paycheck of $100,000. Tickets for the Level 4 Open Finals may be purchased directly on site at the CremonaFiere Box Office starting Friday, May 22. Please note that tickets may no longer be purchased online.
Friday Action:
Following the NRHA Youth classes and 2026 WRCC Qualifier, the $2,340-Added NRHA Open/$1,1470-Added Intermediate Open/$234-Added Limited Open and 2026 WRCC Qualifiers, the IRHA/FISE Para Reining International Derby will take place. The $300,000-Added NRHA European Futurity Non Pro Finals will close the intense day of competition with the L4 Non Pro Champion taking home a paycheck worth $50,000.

The NRHA European Futurity is hosted during the 39th edition of the Salone del Cavallo Americano at CremonaFiere. The fair, opening on Friday, May 22, has expanded by another 10%, confirming its position as Europe’s leading Western event covering 100,000 square meters, welcoming 700 horses and 1000 riders, 270 exhibitors, and over 30,000 expected spectators. The NCHA of Italy Derby and Spring Show, Cowboy Shooting Speed, Team Penning, and Ranch Sorting will also be held, along with 5,000 Country Passion line dancers.
