Martin Fuchs (SUI) emerged victorious from a star-studded field to win the $330,000 Lugano Diamonds Grand Prix CSIO5* on Thursday, March 21, at World Equestrian Center – Ocala (WEC) in Ocala, FL.The best Jumping athletes in the world have converged at WEC – Ocala to contest the four-day Longines League of Nations™ event. Thursday’s featured competition saw 49 entries come forward to try their luck over the track set by Irish course designer Alan Wade. The clock proved to be just as challenging as the course itself, with five riders clearing all the obstacles only to pick up time faults for exceeding the 80-second time allowed.’

The 37th edition of the FEI European Championship opened the gates to the Italia.Open to Meraviglia – FEI Jumping European Championship Milan 2023 hosted at the Snai San Siro racecourse where the European team and individual jumping titles as well as tickets to Paris 2024 for the best-placed nations not yet qualified for next year’s Olympics will be awarded.

Sunday afternoon at the Palaexpo in Geneva where the CHI de Genève was held, following an emotional goodbye to the horse that made history, Clooney 51, the Rolex Grand Prix held during the CHI de Genève kept the public glued to their seats until the very last horse-rider combination. With 40 competitors vying for first place honors, of which 13 proceeded faultlessly to the jump-off, McLain Ward and HH Azur performed to an amazing ride closing a little over a second faster than 2021 winners, Martin Fuchs and Leone Jei, thus capturing their first Major win at the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping in Geneva.

Swiss Olympian Martin Fuchs Launches into 2020 as World Number One

Olympic athlete Martin Fuchs (SUI) has moved to the top of the Longines Rankings for the first time in his career, overtaking compatriot Steve Guerdat who held the number one position for a year. Martin Fuchs (27), now out in front with 3,483 points, has been hot on the heels of Guerdat since August last year and finished 2019 with a string of inspirational performances including his impressive Grand Prix victory on home turf at the CSI5* at Geneva and, a week later, taking the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ leg at Olympia in December, 29 years after his father Thomas won at the London venue.
