The fifth performance of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo will be a memorable one for J.B. Mauney from Cotulla, Texas.
Mauney is one of the most well-known bull riders in the sport’s history. He spent many years on the Professional Bull Riders tour and earned titles from that organization in 2013 and 2015. While he is a bull rider and has enjoyed a successful career, he wanted to compete in rodeos as well. He did that in 2009 and that was the only time he rode at the rodeo in Frontier Park. He’s competing full-time for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association this year and is climbing up the standings very quickly.

It was a night full of dodging multiple rain storms that passed through the Salt Lake Valley on Thursday night for the third performance at the Days of '47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo presented by Zions Bank. The performance was initially delayed 30 minutes due to lightening and then again in the middle of the team roping due to more lightening, high winds and torrential rain.
2019 PRCA World Champion Bareback Rider Clayton Biglow took the first victory lap on Thursday night following the first weather delay after posting an 80.5 points ride aboard Legend Rodeo’s Smokey Bay. Biglow of Clements, CA, punched his ticket to the Gold Medal Round on Saturday night and will be looking to add a gold medal to his PRCA gold buckle already in his trophy case.
