The Morocco Royal Tour ended with a double Italian triumph in the Grand Prix of His Majesty Mohammed VI. Roberto Turchetto wins, thirty-two small hundredths faster, in front of “veteran” Natale Chiaudani after a tough battle. A final apotheosis, especially if you are Italian, but also for this magnificent circuit that finds its conclusion in front of a large public.

An audience whose enthusiasm has nothing to envy to that of the best European audiences. A stadium atmosphere that demonstrates the passion that Moroccans have for the horse. A passion also to be seen with the outstanding quality of the facilities built for the Horse Show of El Jadida and desired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Concerning show jumping, the arena and the footing were perfect. Added to this the welcome that the team of the MRT offers to the riders and their entourages, we understand that they all want to come back from one year to the next and, word of mouth doing its work, they are even more and more every year: twenty-five nations from five continents followed the caravan of the tenth anniversary of the MRT from Tetouan to El Jadida via Rabat. In the only second round of this ultimate Grand Prix, we counted on the twelve finalists, eight nations and four continents! The most represented nation was Italy with three riders, and, on courses built by an Italian course designer (but this is just a hazard promised Uliano Vezzani), Roberto Turchetto (Baron) and Natale Chiaudani (Chopard) have signed two of the only three clear rounds of this second round: “I love this place,” said the winner. This is the third time I have come and the second time I have won the Grand Prix here in El Jadida. And I promise you that if I have the horse for that, I will definitely be back here next year. Today, the courses were particularly difficult as we have seen, very technical, difficulties spread over all the fences and you had to be vigilant at all times, but there were still twelve without fault. Then, to win, you had to really tighten all the turns “. The young Swiss Elian Baumann, riding Campari Z, completed this podium that was finally very European.
When such a beautiful event ends, after three weeks of common adventures, there is always a little bit of sadness when the curtain falls on the stage. But already, all of them, like Roberto Turchetto, were already talking about their plans to come back next year on this circuit. A circuit like no other because it’s so warmly human. Just eleven short months to wait after all.
