Ambassador Denise Bauer Saddles up Paint Style at NRHA European Futurity

In a series of historic firsts, U.S. Ambassador to France Denise Bauer visited the 2022 NRHA European Futurity May 28 and rode an American Paint Horse after APHA extended an invitation to the U.S. Embassy in Paris.
Taking place about an hour south of Paris at BO Ranch, Ambassador Bauer toured the “French cathedral of reining,” visited with European Paint Horse owners, watched the competition and saw firsthand a beautiful example of American agriculture exports—horses foaled in the United States or produced using imported genetics.

La Chapelle-la-Reine, May 29—The 2022 NRHA European Futurity held at BO Ranch, La Chapelle- la-Reine, France, closed with the $104,520-Added BO Ranch European Non Pro Futurity. The Non Pro qualifier leaders, Andreu Nogue Puig and Simple The Best 66, closed their performance in the finals with a 215 score and the $ 41,808-added Cardinal Reining Horses Level (L)4 Open Championship to their name.

La Chapelle-la-Reine, May 28—The inaugural NRHA European Futurity was held in Kreuth, Germany, in 2009. Clinching the Level (L)4 Open Championship was NRHA Two Million Dollar Rider Bernard Fonck aboard Sail On Top Whizard—aka “Topper”— at the time owned by Dany Cerato.  On Saturday night, Fonck conquered his second title at Topper’s last home, BO Ranch, owned by Greg Morat.

2022 Women’s Rodeo World Championship Concludes and Crowns Four Event Champions

Following this week’s electric Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC) event inside the historic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, not only are there new event champions crowned, but the event reached a new level of dominant competition.
 
The ferociously contested Breakaway Roping Event Championship race capped off a slug-fest between Martha Angelone (Stephenville, Texas), and barrel racer/breakaway roper Britta Strain (Bryan, TX).
Backed by a strong showing, including tying for the fastest time of the week, Angelone surged to the top of the breakaway roping leaderboard after a 2.05-second time to win the showdown round, besting Strain’s 2.29-second run. The 3x WRWC qualifier entered the Triple Crown of Rodeo Round alongside Strain and Jenna Dallyn (Nanton, AB).

Hope Thompson Wins 2022 Women’s Rodeo World Championship All-around Cowgirl

FORT WORTH, Texas – For the second time, Hope Thompson has claimed a Women’s Rodeo World Champion title. The Stephenville, TX cowgirl claimed the WRWC All-Around Buckle to take home a $20,000 bonus on top of a $5,000 heeler challenger world champion bonus. In 2020, Hope Thompson earned the only qualified time in team roping with Rylie Smith at the heels, to take home a near $100,000 cash prize. Thompson is the richest athlete within the WCRA, with over $200,000 in earnings.

Jimmi Jo Montera Remains in Top Spot of Women’s Rodeo World Championship All-around Leaderboard

FORT WORTH, Texas – As the action got underway for the first-ever Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC) in Fort Worth, Texas, Monday evening at Cowtown Coliseum, heated races for the world championship titles began to unfurl.
Jimmi Jo Montera (Greely, Colorado) currently leads the World All-Around standings with 8,755 points, edging Hope Thompson’s (Abilene, Texas) 8,715 points.

Senn Wins the 2022 NCHA Vice President Election

FORT WORTH – The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) announces the next NCHA Vice President will be Mark Senn from Augusta, Georgia. Senn will take on his new position as Vice President starting on June 5, 2022.
Senn received 2,130 votes to win the election with a 68.2 percent majority.

Triple Crown of Rodeo Eligibility Restarts as New Champions Are Crowned at Rodeo Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –In front of an electric crowd inside the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, rodeo athletes from across the globe were crowned champions and walked away with upwards of $553,000. The Triple Crown of Rodeo Round saw three TCR eligible athletes enter the TCR Round, where all of the eligible athletes for the $1 million bonus were eliminated.
 
The Triple Crown of Rodeo is an annual bonus that pays a $1 Million cash award to any one athlete or collection of athletes who win first place in any three consecutive WCRA Major Rodeos.
