Rodeo Corpus Christi and WCRA Announce $600,000 Payout and Addition of Dy Showcase for 2024

AUSTIN, Texas- Rodeo Corpus Christi and WCRA have recently announced the increased payout to over $600,000 in prize money for the 2024 WCRA Triple Crown of Rodeo Event. The May 7-11 lineup of events will also now include the CEAT Specialty Tires Division Youth Showcase Rodeo. Rodeo Corpus Christi coincides with the annual Buc Days Festival and the PBR Velocity Tour Finals at the American Bank Center on the picturesque Corpus Christi Bayfront.

Martha Angelone Wins 2023 Women’s Rodeo World Championship All-Around Cowgirl

FORT WORTH, Texas – After an electric record-setting season, Martha Angelone (Cross Junction, Virgina) emerged the supreme competitor, delivering a clutch final day of the all-around race in Fort Worth, Texas, to be crowned the 2023 WRWC (Women’s Rodeo World Championship) All-Around World Champion, earning the accompanying $20,000 bonus and Coats saddle.

Wrangler BFI Week Breaks Records, Pays Out Nearly $4 Million

Wrangler BFI Week, anchored by the 46th annual Bob Feist Invitational Team Roping on April 1, paid out a record $3.88 million to ropers and drew more than 2,000 teams. The event, running March 29 through April 4, was comprised of 13 separate ropings over seven days in Guthrie, Oklahoma’s Lazy E Arena. Aired live on the Wrangler Network, 112,000 viewers at home watched more than 3.3 million minutes of team roping.

Kirchner & Thompson Take $160,000 Career Win at BFI

Curry Kirchner and Tyson Thompson had the biggest day of their young roping careers at the 46th annual Bob Feist Invitational Team Roping Classic, and thanks to the unprecedented 100% 2023 payback have a record $160,000 to show for it. Kirchner, 24, and Thompson, 25, roped six steers in 45.38 seconds to take center stage at the fabulous Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma at BFI’s end on April 1. After braving the BFI marathon, both were borderline speechless.
“The BFI is the biggest roping there is,” said Kirchner, 24, who works alongside his dad, Robert, at Myrl Mortenson’s cattle operation about an hour and 15 minutes northwest of Guthrie in Ames, Oklahoma. “To just be able to compete in this roping is great. To even think about winning it is crazy.

Star Kaycee Feild continues to work his NFR magic in Round 1

LAS VEGAS – Kaycee Feild left the 2021 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo after becoming the PRCA’s all-time leader in bareback riding world titles with six.
A year later, he shows no signs of slowing down.
Feild had an 87.5-point ride on Sankey Pro Rodeo & Phenom Genetics’ Bronc Riding Nation to win Round 1 of the 2022 Wrangler NFR presented by Teton Ridge before 16,929 spectators Thursday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
